Fire Extinguishers

Get the power of encapsulator technology at home. When paired with F-500 EA, this tool can effectively extinguish lithium-ion battery fires, that may originate from home consumer electronics. It also offers control for small to medium-sized flat fuel spills, eliminating the need for a flammable, clean-up absorbent.

A handy solution for multi-class fire suppression, our extinguishers come in 2.5 gallon or 6-liter sizes with multiple hose and nozzle configurations.

Portable and mobile fire fighting units

Mobile Units

F-500 EA made available in 26 and 40-gallon portable carts that can be deployed for Class A and B fires. With a built-in, adjustable eductor, these connect to a 1.5” fire hose and come equipped with a 50-foot double-jacket deployment hose and 60-gpm nozzle. Conveniently compact, these portable units can be deployed quickly.

Fast-response trailers and self-contained skids are also available for uses where water may not be readily accessible. Using modifiable TKO nozzles, these are well suited for car fires, industrial buildings, storage and warehouse facilities, and flammable liquid spill control.

Piercing Rod Systems by HCT

Designed especially for use in bulk storage fires in silos, bunkers, and piles. Dust explosion events are common in wood, food, metals, plastic, and power industries. Hot spots can happen due to electrical shorts or spontaneous combustion, creating an extremely dangerous environment.

The piercing rod system allows you to inject F-500 EA into a hot spot at a safe distance.

Thermal imaging cameras are very useful for firefighters to locate fire in smoke-filled spaces and are excellent during overhaul, to identify remaining hot spots after a fire. For combustible dust applications, thermal imaging is crucial in discovering and pinpointing hot spots in silos, bunkers and stockpiles.

How F-500 EA Works

A water additive, F-500 EA immediately reduces the surface tension of the water, creating more surface area to absorb heat and better penetrate the pores of solid fuel. Neutralizing the fuel and interrupting the free radical chain reaction results in a faster knockdown of the fire, permanent burn back resistance and elimination of most steam, soot, and smoke.

Class A Applications
F-500 EA is effective on all Class A ordinary combustibles:

  • Wood / structure and wildland fires
  • Pulp and paper mills and recycling centers
  • Cotton and synthetic fiber production and products
  • Coal and power generation facilities
  • Rubber tire manufacturing and recycling plants
Class B Applications
F-500 EA is effective on Class B Polar and Non-Polar solvents:

  • Gasoline and diesel fuels
  • Jet A, JP4/JP5/JP8 aviation fuels
  • Acetone, Heptane, and other non-polar solvents
  • Crude oils and refining byproducts
  • Ethanol and ethanol blended fuels (E-10, E-85, etc.)
  • Industrial alcohols and solvents
Class C Applications
F-500 EA has been tested* and approved only for transformer fires energized to 345 KV, streaming from 125 feet and lithium-ion hybrid and electric car fires:

  • Class A or B, in additional to electrically energized objects
  • High-voltage transformers
  • High-voltage car batteries

*Bosch of Germany tested high-voltage battery fires and only recommends F-500 EA, while Dekra, Daimler and Deutsche ACCUmotive also tested lithium-ion battery fires and concluded F-500 EA was the recommended agent to extinguish hybrid and electric vehicle fires.

In another study, F-500 was examined to understand its extinguishing and cooling effect for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells in modules. The extinguishing effectiveness and cooling capacity of a 3% F-500 solution and pure water mist (WM) were compared while the concentration of H2 was evaluated during testing. Results exhibited the cooling capacity of F-500 was 3x that of WM and the peak concentration for H2 was 14 ppm, while the peak concentration was 217 ppm when WM was applied.

Class D Applications
F-500 EA is effective on Class D metal fires:
